About animals and mediation

It turns out that in the animal world there are only three main types of conflicts: 1) the struggle for limited resources necessary for survival (territory, food, water); 2) conflicts in the reproduction of offspring (between males, between females and males, in the protection of offspring); and 3) the struggle for hierarchy and status in the group, again about the survival of the group. That's all.

At the same time, conflicts occur more often within groups than between groups.

Therefore, animals do not need mediation 😊

But people have many types of conflicts: constructive, destructive, substantive, pointless, value, intrapersonal, interpersonal, intergroup, social and just "such a day", or "it's all he / she / they" 😊

Conflict resolution and reconciliation in animals occurs instinctively because it is necessary for survival and occurs through conciliatory behavior and close physical contact. And for people there are special people - mediators.

There are still commercial hugs - cuddle-for-hire, but it's not about business conflicts and property disputes 😊 😊
